A Day Trip by Flight from Hurghada to the Giza Plateau and the GEM
You start in Hurghada. The road to the Giza Plateau is 473 kilometers long, and the one-way drive takes six hours; this day trip instead flies to Cairo in 60 minutes. What the entry price includes and which tickets are added
The entry price starts at €232. Included are hotel pickup, lunch, the flight to Cairo, and the accompaniment of a live guide; the provider specifies a German-speaking guide. What it leaves open is the site ticket for the Giza Plateau. Officially, it costs 700 Egyptian pounds, about €11, and is added on the day. A pyramid interior is explicitly not included. At the Plateau: Card Payment, Shuttle, and Opening Hours
At the Giza Plateau, the Great Gate has been the main entrance since 2025; the former gate at the Mena House is no longer the entrance. The ticket office closes one hour before the site closes; you can only pay by card at the counter. Private vehicles are prohibited on the plateau; an electric shuttle takes you to the pyramids, the Panorama Point, and the Sphinx. The shuttle ride is included in the admission. The official opening hours are 08:00 to 16:00; an older official source stated 07:00 to 17:00.
