You are staying in Hurghada and want to see the Pyramids of Giza without making the return trip on the same day? This tour by Ranco Travel Egypt is designed for two days. It takes you from the Red Sea to the plateau with the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, to the Great Sphinx, and to the viewpoints between the structures. Also included is the new Egyptian Museum, two kilometers from the plateau. Since mid-November 2025, it is only accessible with a pre-booked time slot. The tour is guided in German and English. The one-way drive takes about six hours, covering 473 kilometers. The group is designed as a small group.

What the price includes and where the provider remains silent
The price starts at €258. Included are the site ticket for the Giza Plateau, lunch, hotel pickup in Hurghada, and a guided tour. The site ticket officially costs 700 Egyptian pounds, around €11; the provider covers this cost. He says nothing about the interior of a pyramid. The site ticket does not cover the interiors. The ticket for the interior of the Great Pyramid costs officially 1,000 Egyptian pounds, around €16, and is only issued on site; access to the interior of the Pyramid of Menkaure costs 280 Egyptian pounds. Whether the provider arranges such tickets is left open. The booking can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before. Tipping is customary in Egypt, but not a surcharge for special service.

Rules at the Great Gate: card payment, shuttle, opening hours
At the Great Gate, the main entrance on the Cairo-Fayoum desert road, the ticket office closes one hour before the site closes. Payment at the counter is by card only, not cash. Since 2025, private vehicles are banned on the plateau. Visitors who do not walk use the electric shuttle; it stops at Khufu, Khafre, Menkaure, the panoramic point, and the Sphinx. The opening hours of the site are not uniform: the official website states 08:00 to 16:00, an older document states 07:00 to 17:00. The Sphinx Gate is open but has no ticket counter.
Who should book the two-day tour and who should not
This tour is right for you if you plan two days for Cairo and Giza and do not want to cover the distance from Hurghada in a single day. It is marked as wheelchair accessible.
