What is in the price and what is officially added
The starting price from €83 with OceanAir Travel covers the area ticket for the Giza Plateau, lunch, and hotel pickup. Officially, this area ticket for foreigners costs 700 Egyptian pounds, about €11 at an exchange rate of 59.14 pounds per euro as of September 3, 2026, and is therefore already included in the tour price.
Explicitly not included is the interior of the Great Pyramid of Khufu. That costs an additional 1,000 Egyptian pounds, about €16, payable directly at the pyramid entrance. There is no official combination ticket covering both the museum and the plateau, even though some providers advertise savings. As is customary in the country, tips are added, which are common in Egypt and not only reward special service.

After travel time, lunch, and the two kilometres between the museum and the plateau, realistically only a few hours remain for the three pyramids and the Sphinx.
The ticket office at the plateau closes one hour before the gate closes at 4 pm, while the museum is open until 9 pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and the grounds there even until 10 pm.

Tickets, shuttle, and card payment on the plateau
Since private vehicles are no longer allowed on the plateau as of 2025, your group will get around there on the electric shuttle, which is included in the site ticket and stops at Khufu, Khafre, Menkaure, the Panorama Point, and the Sphinx. OceanAir Travel books the site ticket for the group in advance, so you won't have to queue at the counter yourself – which only accepts card payments and closes one hour before the gates shut.
For the interior of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, however, you pay on your own, directly at the entrance, also only by card.
Who this combination is for
This tour is a good fit if you want to see the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Giza Plateau in one day without having to arrange transport and lunch yourself, and if a regular group with a German-speaking guide is sufficient. It cannot be booked privately or as a small group.
It is not suitable for wheelchair users – the provider rates it as not accessible. If you only want to see the plateau without the museum and without spending the whole day, the tour “From Cairo: Half-Day Tour to the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx” (5–6 hours, from €35) is the shorter, cheaper option.
