From the Giza Plateau to the new museum: the day in seven hours
You start in Cairo and drive to the Giza Plateau. The tour by Ramses tours is called "Female-Led Pyramids, Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM)" and lasts seven hours. It combines the three pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, the Great Sphinx, and the GEM, which is two kilometres from the plateau. What the entry price includes and what remains open
The entry price starts at 90 euros. This includes the site ticket for the Giza Plateau. Ramses tours thus covers the official entrance fee of 700 Egyptian pounds, around €11 at an exchange rate of 59.14 EGP per euro. The provider leaves open whether the interior of the Great Pyramid of Khufu is included in the price; officially this interior costs an additional 1,000 EGP (around €16). It also does not mention the interior of the Pyramid of Menkaure; officially it is 280 EGP, in addition to the site ticket. The provider says nothing about lunch or hotel pickup. Tipping is customary in Egypt and is not a surcharge for special service; expect it as part of the day. The booking can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before.

Season and time of day: Cairo's temperature curve
The most pleasant months are November to March: average highs then range between 19 and 25 degrees, lows between 10 and 16 degrees. From April it gets warmer, averaging 28 degrees, and in October again 30 degrees. It gets really hot from May to September: May reaches 32 degrees, the months June to August each 35 degrees, and September remains at 33 degrees, barely below. At night in these months it only cools down to 22 to 24 degrees. When visiting, the daytime values are decisive, not the nighttime lows. There is hardly any shade on the plateau. The diagram shows normal outdoor values, not a forecast for your travel dates.

At the Giza Plateau, the ticket office closes one hour before the site. Official opening hours are not clear: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM are both mentioned. Payment at the ticket counter is by card only, not cash. Private vehicles have not been allowed onto the plateau since the 2025 reorganization. Instead, an electric shuttle operates hop-on/hop-off service to the Great Pyramid of Khufu, Khafre, Menkaure, the Panorama Point, and the Sphinx.
