From Cairo to the plateau and the museum in seven hours
You start in Cairo. The tour by Ramses tours lasts seven hours and leads to the Giza Plateau and the Grand Egyptian Museum. On the plateau stand the three pyramids: the Great Pyramid of Khufu as the largest, the Pyramid of Khafre as the middle, the Pyramid of Menkaure as the smallest. In addition, there is the Sphinx carved from the bedrock, the valley temple of the Pyramid of Khafre, and the viewpoints between the structures. The valley temple is considered the shadiest spot on the site. The museum is two kilometers from the plateau. What the price includes and what remains open
The entry price starts at 90 euros. Included in the price are hotel pickup in Cairo, accompaniment by a live guide, and the site ticket for the Giza Plateau. The site ticket officially has a value of 700 Egyptian pounds, around €11; it is not charged extra. The provider does not mention lunch. Nor does it say whether the interior of a pyramid is part of the program. For interiors, the official price list states 1,000 EGP for the Great Pyramid of Khufu, around €16, and 280 EGP for the Pyramid of Menkaure. Free cancellation is possible up to 24 hours before.

The heat of Cairo and the most favorable months
The monthly curves for Cairo show the highest values from June to August: maximum temperatures then reach 35 degrees, at night they only drop to about 24 degrees. A seven-hour tour that takes place during the day thus falls into the hot hours in high summer. December to February are considerably more bearable, with maximum values between 19 and 20 degrees. May and September reach 32 and 33 degrees, April and October 28 and 30 degrees. There is hardly any shade on the Giza Plateau; the values are normal outdoor values and not a forecast for the booked day.

At the Great Gate: card payment, shuttle, and ticket office closing time
Since 2025, you reach the Giza Plateau through the Great Gate on the Cairo–Fayoum desert road. Private vehicles stay outside; electric shuttles run on the plateau. They stop at the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, at the Panorama Point, and at the Sphinx. At the ticket counter, only card payment is accepted; cash is not taken. The counter closes one hour before the site closes. Opening hours are given differently: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Since mid-November 2025, you can enter the museum only with a pre-booked time slot.
