What the entry price includes and what is extra
The entry price starts at 170 euros. Included are hotel pickup, lunch, a guided tour with a guide, and the site ticket for the Giza Plateau. With this ticket, the provider covers the official entrance fee of 700 Egyptian pounds, about 11 euros, for foreign adults; this amount is not charged again at the ticket office. You should also budget for the interiors, as the site ticket does not cover them: The Great Pyramid of Khufu costs officially 1,000 Egyptian pounds, about 16 euros, and the Pyramid of Menkaure 280 Egyptian pounds. The provider says nothing about admission to the Egyptian Museum; officially, the museum charges foreign adults 550 Egyptian pounds, and students 275. Tipping is customary in Egypt, but not an extra charge for special service.

Heat in the summer half-year, milder months from November to February
For the city of Giza itself, no official monthly values exist; the chart on this page uses the nearby Cairo station. From June to August, highs reach 35 degrees. A full-day tour on the shadow-poor plateau gets the full brunt of the midday heat in these months; the nighttime lows help little during the day. More pleasant are November to February with highs between 19 and 25 degrees, while in October 30 degrees are reached. The temperature figures are outdoor normal values, not a forecast.

Since the 2025 reorganization, the Great Gate has been the main entrance to the plateau; the Sphinx Gate is open but has no ticket counter. The ticket counter closes one hour before the site closes. Payment is by card only; the counter does not accept cash. Private vehicles are no longer allowed onto the plateau; the electric shuttle is included in the site ticket and stops at the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, the Pyramid of Menkaure, the Panorama Point, and the Sphinx. Opening hours are given as 8 am to 4 pm; another official document states 7 am to 5 pm. These details contradict each other.
