At the Giza Plateau: opening hours, card payment, and shuttle
According to the official website, the plateau is open from 8 am to 4 pm; an older official source says 7 am to 5 pm. The ticket office closes one hour before closing time, and payment is by card only. Private vehicles are no longer allowed onto the plateau since 2025; visitors use the electric shuttle, whose ride is included in the site ticket. It stops at the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, at the Panorama Point, and at the Sphinx. The main entrance is the Great Gate on the Cairo-Fayoum desert road.
