What the base price covers and what remains separate
The entry price starts at 29 euros. Included are hotel pickup in Cairo, lunch, a live guide, and the site ticket for the Giza Plateau. The official fee for the site ticket of 700 EGP, about 11 euros, is borne by the provider. Not included is an interior. At the plateau, interior tickets are sold separately: for the Great Pyramid of Khufu officially 1,000 EGP, about 16 euros, for the Pyramid of Menkaure 280 EGP. The site ticket does not cover these interiors. Tipping is customary in Egypt and is not a surcharge for special service. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before.

Climate on the Plateau: Months and Time of Day
The diagram above this section shows the monthly values for Cairo. The most strenuous period is from June to August: highs stay at 35 degrees, and at night they only drop to 22 to 24 degrees. The highest values are daytime values, the lowest are nighttime values; on the plateau there is hardly any shade, and the daytime hours are exposed to the sun. November to February are considerably more bearable, when highs stay between 19 and 25 degrees. These are normal outdoor values, not a forecast. If you have the choice, postpone your tour to these months.

At the Great Gate: card payment, shuttle, and opening hours
The main access to the plateau has been the Great Gate on the desert road between Cairo and Fayoum since the 2025 reorganization; the Sphinx Gate is open but has no ticket counter. Private vehicles stay below; you use the electric shuttle or walk. The shuttle stops at Khufu, Khafre, Menkaure, the panorama point, and the Sphinx. The ticket counter closes one hour before the gate closes, and payment is by card only. The official website lists opening hours as 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM; an official 2020 PDF lists 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
