Temperatures in Cairo: the cool months for the open plateau

What applies at the entrance to the plateau and museum
For the Giza Plateau, the official opening hours contradict each other: 08:00 to 16:00 and 07:00 to 17:00 are both mentioned. The ticket office closes one hour before the site closes. Payment at the counter is by card only, not cash. Private vehicles have not been allowed on the plateau since 2025; the electric shuttle included in the site ticket serves the stops. The main entrance has been the Great Gate on the Cairo-Fayoum desert road since 2025; the Sphinx Gate remains open but has no ticket counter. The Egyptian Museum is open 09:00 to 17:00, seven days a week; there, too, the ticket office closes one hour before closing, i.e., at 16:00.
