What the entry price covers and what is added
The entry price from €55 includes hotel pickup, lunch, the guide, and the site ticket for the Giza Plateau. With the site ticket, the provider covers the official amount of 700 Egyptian pounds for you; it is valid for the grounds, not for interiors. The provider does not say whether admission to the Egyptian Museum is included in the entry price. At the museum, the official entrance fee for foreign adults is 550 EGP and for foreign students 275 EGP; an audio guide costs 75 EGP. OceanAir offers the interior of the Great Pyramid of Khufu as an add-on; this is rare in this group, only five other offers include it. The provider does not state an add-on price; officially, the interior costs 1,000 EGP. For the interior of the Pyramid of Menkaure, an official 280 EGP is required in addition to the site ticket. Rules and opening hours at the plateau
The official website lists 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the Giza Plateau; an official source from 2020 lists 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. What is certain: the ticket office closes one hour before the site closes, and payment is by card only, not cash. Cash is still needed for tips. Private vehicles have not been allowed since 2025; transport is provided by an electric shuttle with stops at the pyramids and the Sphinx. It is included in the site ticket. The main entrance is the Great Gate on the desert road between Cairo and Fayoum; the Sphinx Gate is open but has no ticket office.
Suitable for group travellers, not for private tours or wheelchair users
Take this tour if you want to cover the old Egyptian Museum at Tahrir and the plateau in one day and are travelling with other guests. If you prefer a private tour or a small group, you will find the tour “Cairo: Private Tour to Pyramids and Great Sphinx with Camel Ride” in the comparison group; however, no German-speaking guide is listed there.
