Card payment, shuttle, and the early ticket office close
The opening hours of the plateau are not clear: 8 am to 4 pm according to one official source, 7 am to 5 pm according to another. The ticket office closes one hour before the site. At the ticket office you pay only by card, not cash; cash is still needed for tips and small expenses. Private vehicles have not been allowed on the plateau since 2025. If you don't walk, use the electric shuttle; it is included in the site ticket and stops at the pyramids, the panorama point, and the Sphinx. The main entrance is the Great Gate on the desert road from Cairo to Fayoum; the Sphinx Gate is open but has no ticket sales.
Who gets by with four hours and who takes the longer option
This tour is right for you if you want a compact introduction to the Giza Plateau and the new museum without spending a whole day. The operator sells it as a private booking, not as a small group; it is marked as wheelchair accessible. It is not a good choice if you have seven to eight hours planned for the same sights anyway.
