At the Gate: Opening Hours, Card Payment and Electric Shuttle
Since the 2025 reorganisation, the main entrance is the Great Gate on the desert road from Cairo to Fayoum; private vehicles are no longer allowed onto the plateau. Opening hours are given as 08:00 to 16:00; an older version says 07:00 to 17:00. The information is contradictory. The ticket office closes one hour before the site closes. Payment is by card only, not cash. Included in the site ticket is an electric shuttle that stops at Khufu, Khafre, Menkaure, the panoramic point and the Sphinx. The Sphinx Gate is open but has no ticket office.
