What the entry price from €257 covers and what costs extra at the plateau

At the Great Gate: opening hours, card payment, shuttle
The main entrance is the Great Gate on the desert road from Cairo to Fayoum; the old gate at Mena House has been replaced. The official website states 08:00 to 16:00, while an official PDF from 2020 states 07:00 to 17:00. In any case, the ticket office closes one hour before the site. Payment at the counter is by card only. Private vehicles are no longer allowed since 2025; if you don't walk, take the electric shuttle. It is included in the admission and stops at Khufu, Khafre, Menkaure, the Panorama Point, and the Sphinx. The Sphinx Gate is open but has no ticket counter.
Who the two days suit and who they don't
