What the entry price includes
The tour costs from €250. Included are the guide, lunch, and the site ticket for the Giza Plateau. The site ticket has an official value of 700 Egyptian pounds, about €11. Since it is included, it will not be charged again at the gate. Also included is the shuttle on the site. The interior of a pyramid is explicitly not part of the price. For the interior of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the official price is 1,000 Egyptian pounds, about €16; for the Pyramid of Menkaure, it is 280 Egyptian pounds. In both cases, the site ticket serves as access to the site. Hotel pickup is only offered as an add-on by the provider; no price is given. Tipping is customary in Egypt, but not a surcharge for special service.

At the Gate: Hours, Card Payment, and Access
At the plateau's ticket office, special rules apply. Opening hours are stated differently: the official website says 8 am to 4 pm, another official source says 7 am to 5 pm. The ticket office closes one hour before the site closes. Payment is by card only, not cash; cashless sales have been in effect since 2023, but cash is still useful for tips and small purchases. Private vehicles have not been allowed onto the plateau since 2025. If you're not walking, take the shuttle. The main entrance is the Great Gate on the desert road from Cairo to Fayoum; the old gate at Mena House has been replaced. The Sphinx Gate remains open but has no ticket office.
Who Should Take This Tour and Who Should Choose Another
This tour is suitable if you can set aside two full days and want to see the plateau in depth, not just briefly. It cannot be booked privately or as a small group. It is explicitly not the right choice if you only have one day or want to visit the Grand Egyptian Museum.
