At the Gate: Opening Hours, Ticket Office Closing Time, and Card Payment
The opening hours of the plateau are given as 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; alternatively, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. is also circulating. The ticket office closes one hour before the site closes. Payment at the counter is by card only, not cash. Since 2025, private vehicles are banned on the plateau; instead, an electric shuttle operates, the use of which is included in the site ticket. The main entrance is called the Great Gate and is located on the desert road from Cairo to Fayoum.
