Saqqara in addition to the plateau: a full day, not a side trip

This group brings together tours that, besides the Giza Plateau, also visit the Step Pyramid of Djoser in Saqqara, the oldest stone structure of this size. Saqqara lies about 30 kilometers south of the plateau, and that distance is firmly part of the day's itinerary: if you want to see both places in one day, you are not booking a short extra stop but are effectively reserving a whole day for it.

And keep an eye on the clock: Saqqara officially opens from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and with an average total duration of 7.8 hours plus 30 kilometers of travel, there is little buffer for a late start; setting off too late may cost you the second site.

For choosing the right group, it also matters which site you really want to see. If you are only looking for the Pyramid of Djoser without necessarily needing Dahshur, you will find the right selection here, as several offers combine Saqqara with Memphis but without Dahshur.
