Opening Hours, Card Payment, and Shuttle at the Giza Plateau
The main entrance to the Giza Plateau has been the Great Gate on the Cairo-Fayoum desert road since 2025; the Sphinx Gate is open but has no ticket counter. The official opening time is given as 08:00 to 16:00; an older official figure from 2020 is 07:00 to 17:00. Ticket sales end one hour before the site closes. Payment at the counter is by card only; cash is not accepted. Private vehicles have not been allowed onto the plateau since 2025; visitors take the electric shuttle or walk. The shuttle is included in the admission and stops at the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, the Pyramid of Menkaure, the Panorama Point, and the Great Sphinx.
