At the Gate: Card Payment, Ticket Office Closing, Shuttle
The opening hours of the Giza Plateau are not clear-cut: one official source says 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., an earlier official source says 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. What is clear is the ticket office closing time: one hour before the gate closes. Payment at the ticket counter is by card only, not cash. The main entrance is the Great Gate on the Cairo-Fayoum desert road; the Sphinx Gate is also open but has no ticket counter. Private vehicles have not been allowed since 2025; an electric shuttle operates on the plateau, and its use is included in the entrance fee.
Who the flight day suits and when the bus option is the better choice
This tour suits travelers who want to get to the Giza Plateau from Sharm in one day and prefer flying to taking the bus.
