Four Hours on the Giza Plateau, Starting in Giza
This excursion starts in Giza and lasts four hours. From Giza, it's a good twelve kilometers to the plateau; you drive about fifteen minutes. The tour can be booked privately; you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before. The organizer is Emo Tours Swiss GmbH.
You drive to the Giza Plateau to the three pyramids, the Great Sphinx, and the viewpoints in between. The Great Pyramid of Khufu is the largest of the three, Khafre's the middle one, and Menkaure's the smallest. The Sphinx is carved from the bedrock; Khafre's Pyramid still shows its casing at the top, and Menkaure's Pyramid has granite from Aswan in its lower courses. If you want to get to know the plateau compactly in four hours, this excursion is suitable.

What the entry price covers
The entry price starts at 41 euros. Included are the tour with a live guide and the site ticket for the plateau; the ticket includes the electric shuttle. The site ticket officially costs 700 Egyptian pounds, around 11 euros; the provider covers this amount for you. Lunch is explicitly not included; only ten other offers in the category also do without it. Hotel pickup can be booked as an add-on; only three other offers offer such an add-on. The provider does not name a price for pickup. Tipping is customary in Egypt and not a surcharge for special service.
The provider says nothing about the interior of a pyramid. Officially, separate tickets are required: 1,000 Egyptian pounds, around 16 euros, for the Great Pyramid of Khufu and 280 Egyptian pounds for the Pyramid of Menkaure. Whether your booking price includes these tickets is left open by the provider.

There are no official values for Giza itself; the chart shows the nearest official station, Cairo. June to August reach highs around 35 degrees, May and September reach 32 and 33 degrees. December to February remain coolest at 19 to 20 degrees. The lows occur at night and in the early morning, the highs in the afternoon. There is hardly any shade on the site; the time of day is therefore at least as important as the month for the four-hour tour. These are normal outdoor values, not a forecast.
