May reaches 32 degrees. It remains mild from November to February, when highs are between 19 and 25 degrees and lows between 10 and 16 degrees. There is hardly any shade on the plateau, and the tour lasts four hours. The provider does not specify a start time. At the Gate: Great Gate, Card Payment, Shuttle, and Opening Hours
The main entrance has been the Great Gate on the desert road between Cairo and Fayoum since 2025; the old gate at Mena House has been replaced. The Sphinx Gate remains open but has no ticket counter. Payment at the counter is by card only; cash is not accepted. Private vehicles are no longer allowed onto the plateau since 2025; the electric shuttle, included in the admission price, covers the route. There are two official opening hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. What is certain is that the ticket counter closes one hour before the gate closes.
