An Eight-Hour Day on the Giza Plateau
The eight-hour excursion by Ramses tours starts in Cairo and leads to the Giza Plateau. What the price includes and what is added on the day
The starting price is €85. Included are hotel pickup in Cairo and a German-speaking female guide; the booking can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before. Not included is the site ticket for the Giza Plateau: it officially costs 700 Egyptian pounds (about €11) and is added on the day. You can add lunch as an extra; Ramses tours does not state the cost. Whether a pyramid interior is visited is left open by the provider. If you want to see the inside of a pyramid, you need a separate ticket. The official interior tickets cost 1,000 EGP (about €16) for the Great Pyramid of Khufu and 280 EGP for the Pyramid of Menkaure.

At the Gate: Ticket Office Closing, Card Payment, Access
At the entrance to the Giza Plateau, payment at the counter is by card only; cash is not accepted. The ticket office closes one hour before the gate closes. The official opening hours are contradictory: both 8 am to 4 pm and 7 am to 5 pm are stated. Since 2025, the main entrance has been the Great Gate on the desert road from Cairo to Fayoum; it replaces the old gate at Mena House. The Sphinx Gate remains open but has no ticket counter. Private vehicles are not allowed onto the plateau; visitors take the electric shuttle or walk.
