Twelve Hours from Port Said to the Giza Plateau
This day trip starts at the port of Port Said and lasts twelve hours. The destination is the Giza Plateau with the three pyramids, the Sphinx, and the viewpoints between the structures. The Great Pyramid of Khufu is the largest of the three, Khafre's pyramid is the middle one and still has its casing at the top, and Menkaure's pyramid is the smallest, with lower courses clad in granite from Aswan. At the Great Gate: card payment, ticket office closing, shuttle
The main entrance to the plateau is the Great Gate on the Cairo-Fayoum desert road. According to one source, the site is open from 8 am to 4 pm; according to an older source, from 7 am to 5 pm. The ticket office closes one hour before the respective gate closing time. Payments at the counter are only possible by card; cash is not accepted. The tour offers no access without queuing. Private vehicles have not been allowed on the plateau since the 2025 reorganization. An electric shuttle takes visitors from the gate to the pyramids, the panoramic point, and the Sphinx; the ride is included in the site ticket.
