Site ticket and lunch are not part of the price
Snefro Travel's price includes neither the site ticket for the Giza Plateau nor lunch; the provider explicitly excludes both. Officially, the site ticket costs 700 Egyptian pounds, around €11 at the exchange rate of September 3, 2026, of 59.14 pounds per euro, payable only by card. With a starting price of €43, this single item thus makes up a quarter of the day. Hotel pickup is also not included in the price, but can be added as an option. From mild winter months to summer heat on open terrain
Between December and February, highs in Cairo are 19 to 20 degrees, a range in which the upper span of eight hours on the plateau can be fully exploited. From April onwards, the values rise significantly, and between June and August they reach 35 degrees with hardly any shade on the site. Card payment, a new main gate, and an hour's lead time
Since 2025, access has been via the new Great Gate on the desert road between Cairo and Fayoum; the former gate at the Mena House has been replaced. The Sphinx Gate remains open but leads to no ticket booth. Payment there is exclusively by card; the ticket office does not accept cash. Private vehicles have not been allowed up onto the plateau since the same reorganization; an electric shuttle now covers the routes between the pyramids and the Sphinx. The official website lists opening hours as 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, while an older 2020 document says 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM; regardless, the ticket booth closes one hour before the site itself, which eats into the upper range of eight hours for that day.
