Heat over the year and the question of time of day

At the Gate: Card Only, Early Ticket Office Closure, No Private Cars
Since 2025, the Great Gate on the desert road between Cairo and Fayoum is the main entrance; the Sphinx Gate is open but has no ticket counter. Ticket sales end one hour before the gate closes. Opening hours are given as 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with an older listing of 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Payment at the counter is card only; cash is not accepted. Still, bring cash for tips and small purchases. Private vehicles have not been allowed on the plateau since 2025. If you don't walk, use the electric shuttle; it's included in the area ticket.
