At the Great Gate: card payment, ticket office closing time, and no private cars
Since the reorganization in 2025, private vehicles remain in front of the Great Gate on the desert road from Cairo towards Fayoum. From the gate, an electric shuttle takes you to the plateau, included in the entrance fee, or you can walk. The ticket office closes one hour before the gate closes. Payment there is by card only, not cash. The official website states opening hours from 8 am to 4 pm; an official PDF from 2020 differs with 7 am to 5 pm. The Sphinx entrance is open but has no separate ticket office.
