The Giza Plateau is open from 8 AM to 4 PM according to the currently stated official information. An older official source differs, saying 7 AM to 5 PM. The ticket office closes one hour before the site closes. At the ticket office, you can only pay by card, not cash. Private vehicles have not been allowed since 2025. The main entrance is the Great Gate on the Cairo-Fayoum desert road; the Sphinx Gate is open but has no ticket office. On the plateau, an electric shuttle runs to the stops: Khufu, Khafre, Menkaure, Panorama Point, and Sphinx.
