At the Gate: Opening Hours, Card Payment, and Electric Shuttle
The main entrance has been the Great Gate on the Cairo-Fayoum desert road since 2025; the former gate at the Mena House has been replaced. The Sphinx Gate is open but has no ticket office. Opening hours are given differently: one official source says 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., another 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The ticket office closes one hour before the site closes. At the ticket office, only card is accepted, not cash. Private vehicles are no longer allowed onto the plateau; instead, an electric shuttle takes you to the three pyramids, the panoramic point, and the Sphinx. It is included in the site ticket.
Who the Short Tour Is For and Who Should Choose the Longer Alternative
This tour is suitable if you have little time in Cairo and specifically want to see the light show at the plateau mentioned in the offer. For travelers expecting a privately booked tour, this offer is not suitable, as it cannot be booked privately. Those expecting a program with a museum, Saqqara, or Memphis should also opt for a longer tour. The provider says nothing about wheelchair accessibility.
