The official website lists opening hours for the Giza Plateau from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; an older official source says 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The ticket office closes one hour before the site closes. Payment at the counter is card only; cash is not accepted there. Since 2025, private vehicles are no longer allowed; visitors ride the electric shuttle, which stops at the three pyramids, the Panorama Point, and the Sphinx. The main entrance has been the Great Gate on the Cairo-Fayoum desert road since 2025; the former gate at Mena House has been replaced. The Sphinx Gate remains open but has no ticket counter. Cash is still needed only for tips and small purchases. A separate entrance without queuing is not guaranteed.
