At the Giza Plateau: Ticket office closing, card payment, and shuttle
The ticket office closes one hour before the site closes. The official website lists site hours as 08:00 to 16:00; an official PDF from 2020 lists 07:00 to 17:00 instead. At the ticket office, since 2023: card only, no cash. Still, carry some cash for tips and small purchases. Private vehicles have not been allowed onto the plateau since 2025; the main entrance is now the Great Gate. An electric shuttle is included in the admission and stops at the three pyramids, the Panorama Point, and the Sphinx. The Sphinx Gate remains open but has no ticket office.
Who should book this eight-day route and who should not
This tour is the right choice for travellers who prefer a fixed, multi-day route with changing destinations over a loose compilation. You should have eight consecutive days available and expect to change locations during the trip. If you only want to see the Giza Plateau or have only one day, a day tour is better.
